NUISANCE ABATEMENT

The Town of Williamston is seeking individual contractors or businesses interested in abating nuisances to cut grass / weeds or to perform general clean-up (which may include junk or debris removal) of properties as part of the Town’s nuisance abatement process. Contractors/businesses must be bonded and insured including general umbrella liability coverage. Also, contractors/businesses must comply with all applicable state and federal law including but not limited to environmental laws as well as labor and employment matters. A Town of Williamston business license is required.

SECTION 3 BUSINESS AND EMPLOYMENT NOTICE

The Town of Williamston is preparing to carry out the Sewer System Upgrade Project through the use of Community Development Block Grant Funds. In the implementation of this project the following job types may be available: • Laborers • Pipe Layers • Equipment Operators • Truck Drivers Job openings will be posted at Williamston Town Hall. To the greatest extent feasible, employment and training positions will be made available to qualified persons who permanently reside in Anderson County. Persons qualified for the jobs listed should register at the following location: Town of Williamston 12 West Main Street Williamston, SC 29697 Additionally, the following contracts and procurements may be made and to the greatest extent feasible, businesses located in and owned by persons residing in Anderson County will be utilized: Sewer Line Construction All above-referenced procurements will be made on a competitive basis. The names of businesses who respond to this notice will be included on procurement lists for this project. Names of job seekers will be given to contractors. Any person residing or firm located in the above named areas may request to participate in procurement opportunities associated with this project by contacting Phyllis Lollis, Town Administrator.
